A.I.MAN. is a non-profit association founded in 1959, with a scientific/cultural nature, aimed at the development and promotion of culture and professionalism in the Italian Maintenance sector: an activity that plays a role of primary importance in industries and services due to the high impact on plant availability, occupational safety, product quality and cost.
MISSION
A.I.MAN., since its foundation in Milan on 20 October 1959, has pursued the mission to be the Italian reference in the development of maintenance science and its culture.
The changes undertaken in the sector over the years have not affected this mission, instead expanding its perspectives.

All this is to make people aware of prevention, safety and protection of health and the environment, reduce waste, risks and dangers inherent in every activity
VISION
A.I.MAN. aims to contribute to the improvement of Health, Safety, the Environment and Efficiency in the use of resources in the short, medium and long term, building maintenance that achieves Models of Excellence and operates effectively, in compliance with the laws of the norms and limits of economic and technological sustainability.
It also formalizes organizational, technical and operational knowledge through legislative proposals, participating in the drafting of Italian and European standards, in the certification of maintenance systems and related professionalism, promptly updated and adequate, through permanent training, to the needs required by innovation technology and international competitiveness.
STRATEGIES
Strengthen the associative structure, encourage decentralization in the Regional Offices, disseminate the culture and maintenance principles, inform and stimulate discussion, involving citizens, professionals and the Authorities in adopting appropriate behaviours.
Provide for effective coordination with other maintenance cultural centres, such as European and other Italian Associations close to the issue of Maintenance, UNI, CEN (Comité Européen de Normalisation), and the European Federation of Maintenance Associations (EFNMS).
Maintain a close link with companies, universities, state bodies, and technical and managerial associations which, together with A.I.MAN., make up FAST (Federazione Associazioni Scientifiche e Tecniche-Federation of Scientific and Technical Associations), to obtain synergies and favour effects in terms of research, training, organisational, technological and operational applications.
